“That’s crazy,” Moe said.

“Yes, like a clock on the moon. It’s called a lunartick,” Joe said. “Get it?”

“Very funny,” I said. “On the moon, because there is no atmosphere, there is no wind. So if you visited the moon today you could still see Neil Armstrong’s footprints. He was the first man to walk on the moon. Sally Ride was the first American woman in space.” I wished I could be the first girl who used a wheelchair on Earth to walk on the moon. I didn’t tell people that. It was a special dream I kept deep in my heart.

“So?”

“So what?” Moe said

“Did it have dust and footprints and everything?”

“Are you telling everyone about our trip to Moon, Wisconsin?” Moe and Joe’s mom said as she walked over to the group.

“Moon, Wisconsin!” I laughed.

The kids laughed too.
