“We did that.” He leaned over and kissed her forehead.

“I know about you and Chloe?”

He stared at her with a frown. “I do not understand.”

“When we were at school. I know she was into you and you rejected you. Why didn’t you tell me?”

“Because she is your best friend and there is a certain il legame. A bond,” he explained as she looked at him askance. “I was never interested in her and after I saw you that first time, I was never interested in anyone.”

“We had a fight.”
