“Hey, Mari! How are you, lady? I’m just following up with you on a Retreat related issue. I hope all is well. Haven’t seen you since Thanksgiving. I had such a good time. Well, Dr. Larson called me today. He hasn’t received Jared’s retreat questionnaire. Can you nudge him along, please? It has to be returned in the next couple of days. Oh, and call me if you have questions. Thanks so much. Have a good one.”

Joy was uncertain how Jared felt about attending the Retreat. At one point, Ms. Isabel had wanted him to lead it. He had refused. He and Mari could certainly do it. They were more than qualified. Him with his doctorate in Divinity and Mari, with her master’s in social work. Plus, Jared specialized in psychological profiling. He thanked his grandmother for thinking of him, but said he had too much on his plate to take it on. Maybe another time. Joy didn’t know enough about what Jared had on his plate to judge. His grandmother’s disappointed expression caused Joy to think that Ms. Isabel didn’t know either.
