Chapter Ten
Muffin
Having to listen to Amberâs mom rant and rave about the pastor is becoming annoying. This woman, who I know for a fact is screwing around on the dad, is going on and on about how hard her life will be without that scumbag man to lean on in times of crisis. Is she for real? Your life is always in crisis whore mom. You put it there.
I donât tell Amber everything. Sure, sheâs my best friend, even if I mess with her and act like she isnât, but certain things she doesnât need to know. One of them is the real reason her dad lost his job. Of course, the parents came up with bullshit reasons to tell everyone. The truth of the matter is whore momâs sluttish ways caught up to him, and it happened at the workplace.
You see, running around the house at night when the kid does get actual sleep, lets me hear things. I see things. The night Dad lost his job, Amber slept. I donât know if it was from picking up on the tension in the house or pure tiredness, but the brat was out like a light. I wasnât. Nope. I was wide awake, about to climb out the window to a fun-filled night when the arguing started. Turns out whore mom has more than one side lover. During one of her âbook clubâ meetings, she was sucking off Dadâs boss behind the local bar. Of course, boss man didnât say anything about it. Nope. It was his wife! She found out and immediately confronted whore mom, in a grocery store. Word got to poor old Dad, and he punched his boss in the mouth. Now he is basically blackballed all over town. People are afraid to hire him due to his âattitude.â
I have debated on telling Amber the truth several times. I thought it would do her good to know what her mom was capable of. Then again, it could hurt her feelings. Sheâs a fickle little thing. I would hope it would piss her off, like it does me. I donât like the idea of whore mom mistreating the dad or Amber. I think she needs to go.
Amber doesnât remember a lot of things from when she was younger. She doesnât remember being slapped when she spilled Kool-Aid on whore momâs new dress. She doesnât remember the yelling when Dad was at work and she asked to go for ice-cream while whore mom was on a call with her rent-a-dick.
Thereâs been a lot about Amberâs life that isnât fair. I remember the worst one quite well though. Itâs the one that I always think of when I see whore mom cry. She hurt Amber. Dad never knew. Amber doesnât remember. But I do. I remember it very well.
The mom always thought something was wrong with Amber. She still does. One night, before Amber started school, Dad was working the night shift. He did it as a favor for Mr. Suckmydick.
