Configuring HPA for Drupal

You can create an autoscaling configuration using kubectl just like other resources:

1 kubectl autoscale -n drupal deployment drupal --min\ 2 =1 --max=8 --cpu-percent=50

As with the Drupal deployment itself, it’s best long-term to save the HPA configuration in a YAML manifest, so you aren’t manually running commands to configure things in your cluster. But for now, it’s easy enough to demonstrate how an HPA works using kubectl.

Now you can monitor the status of the HPA you just created with:

1 watch kubectl get hpa -n drupal
