Chapter 18
This time when I stretched after waking up from my nap, I felt a body shift with me and I knew instantly it was Savo. I could feel his contentment and happiness at having me in his arms through our bond. In the background though, I could sense something was bothering him. Not enough to take him away from me, but more so a lingering need that would be dealt with at some point.
âDid something happen?â I murmured as I turned to face him.
âHmm?â
âI was asking if something happened while I was asleep,â I reiterated.
âNo, KeksÃk, there isnât anything you need to worry about,â he answered.
Frowning, I took my finger and booped him on the nose. âThat isnât what I meant, and you know it. Now that weâre bonded you canât hide how you feel. There is something bothering you.â
Savo took a deep breath and let it out. âI donât have enough information to figure out whatâs bothering me. That's part of the problem, I suppose.â
Just as I was going to ask him something else, my stomach rumbled loudly. My cheeks flushed at the sound and I clutched my stomach. âGoodness, it makes it sound like I havenât eaten in days.â I giggled.
Savo was already in action, scooping me out of the bed, and carrying me into the bathroom. âItâs time for you to get up anyways, almost a whole day asleep. Weâll never be able to get you to sleep tonight at this rate.â
Fisting my hands on my hips, I gave him a scolding look. âIâm not a child who needs to be put to bed, Iâm more than capable of deciding that for myself.â
My Alpha cocked a brow at me, then caught my chin. âMy sweet girl, I'm sure there is something we can do to entice you to come to bed.â
Heat trickled through my body at his words, and I knew he felt it as his eyes dilated and he took a deep breath. âNo, KeksÃk, you need to shower and then eat. You are leaving this room and joining the others downstairs. While I love the idea of spending the rest of the day in bed with you, we have things to settle.â
Pouting, I watched as he turned on the shower and then ushered me under its spray. âWhen someone comes back up here with clothes, you better be washed and not purposely trying to cause trouble.â
âI donât cause trouble,â I shot back as he headed out of the bathroom. He paused and looked over his shoulder with a knowing expression, then left. âI donât,â I muttered to myself.
Knowing that Savo wasnât one to test, I set to washing. Having gone right to sleep after my romp in the sheets, I was glad for the shower. Plus, there was something wonderful about being able to wash off my experience at that house and know Iâd never go back there. When I was done with the shower, I searched the bathroom but there weren't any dry towels.
