Note: Armhole and neck shaping are worked at the same time. Place 43 held left front sts on largest 24" (60-cm) cir and rejoin yarn with RS facing at armhole edge. Next row: (RS, Row 1 of chart) K1, ssk (armhole shaping), work in patt to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1 (neck shaping), mark the last stitch in this row for start of neck shaping—2 sts dec’d total, 1 st each from armhole and neck edges. Dec 1 st at armhole edge in this manner on the next 7 RS rows, and at the same time, dec 1 st at neck edge in this manner every 4th row 10 more times—24 sts rem when all armhole and neck shaping have been completed. Work even in patt until 56 rows (7 full reps) of patt have been completed above the underarm, ending with Row 8 of patt—piece measures 9 (9½, 9¾)" (23 [24, 25] cm) above underarm. Place sts on holder.
