Wolf’s Dream

In Anthravai’s dreamscape, an ethereal world unfolded, often characterized by tranquil meadows and towering mountain ranges. It was a serene yet solitary place, offering a peculiar solace amidst its vast emptiness. This dream realm, devoid of human presence, served as a brief respite for Anthravai, a momentary pause from his worldly pursuits.

However, occasionally, a mysterious figure would emerge to accompany him. This entity, ever-changing in form, manifested variously as an elderly sage, a youthful shepherd, or even as echoes of his departed father and brother. Despite the shifting appearances, Anthravai instinctively recognized this being as the same entity, a celestial presence he came to regard as God.

In one of these surreal encounters, the godly figure imparted a profound revelation to Anthravai, declaring that his destiny was unparalleled in its grandeur and complexity. This fate would bestow upon him a tapestry of triumphs and tribulations, weaving together moments of glory with depths of despair. Curious and somewhat apprehensive, Anthravai inquired about the prevailing sentiment of his life’s journey. The god, with a cryptic chuckle, withheld this knowledge, stating that the answer would only be revealed upon Anthravai’s departure from the mortal world. This enigmatic response, chilling yet oddly fitting, left Anthravai pondering the elusive nature of his destiny.

As time progressed, these dream conversations with the god became a wellspring of insight for Anthravai, unlocking thoughts and ideas that seemed to have been dormant within him. Regrettably, these encounters became increasingly rare, and as Anthravai aged, his desire to converse with this celestial guide only intensified.

Driven by this yearning, Anthravai began to delve deeper into his dream world, venturing beyond the familiar meadows into uncharted terrains. Exhausted by his explorations, he would often drift into a secondary layer of dreaming—a dream within a dream. This inner dreamscape was a stark contrast to the first; it was a realm shrouded in darkness, painted in monochromatic hues of black, white, and gray, as if he had crossed into a different dimension altogether.

In this shadowy world, Anthravai encountered a lone wolf perched upon a rock, a figure he soon recognized as Burai. Burai greeted him with the affectionate nickname ‘Kire’, meaning ‘little friend’. Intrigued, Anthravai learned from Burai that this realm was a spiritual nexus, a place where he could commune with the souls of wolves from afar.

Puzzled by his presence in this ethereal wolf domain, Anthravai questioned Burai. The wolf explained that Anthravai himself bore the essence of a wolf, granting him access to their shared world. Glancing at his reflection, Anthravai was startled to see his own form mirrored as a wolf, an embodiment that resonated with a deep, primal part of his being. This revelation left him in awe, contemplating the profound and mystical connection he shared with these noble creatures.

In this enigmatic world, Anthravai found a peculiar solace. He eagerly awaited his slumber, for it was in these dreams that he journeyed to this second, shadowy realm. With each visit, he plunged deeper into its mysteries, wandering the ghostly plains alongside Burai and Qirir.
