CHAPTER 15

GRAND DISPLAY

The rumors circulating in the academy seemed more likely to have arisen naturally than to be the work of someone. However, Princess Elisita, of course, was undeniably obstructing my path. It was tolerable if it was just a temporary setback, but at this point, the princess might be considering using me as an example in front of the sponsors. If that were the case, her interference wouldn’t cease until I went bankrupt or retreated to my country estate. Before that happened, I had to devise a way to put an end to this. Nevertheless, since I had no knowledge of Elisita’s character, I couldn’t fathom how to approach her.

“Do you have any insights into Princess Elisita’s personality?” I inquired of Iriel.

“The princess highly values loyalty and despises traitors,” Iriel calmly replied.

It was evident that he had acquired new information about her. After all, had he been aware of this beforehand, he wouldn’t have acted as he did during the sword dance competition. I brushed my fingertips against my lips, delving deep into thought. I couldn’t conjure any specific strategies based on what Iriel had just revealed. I scoured my memories for any additional helpful information. Yet, in my recollections, Princess Elisita occupied very little space. Unlike Dean Leeds and Collette Ol, with whom I had forged friendships in previous encounters, I had never had a genuine interaction with the princess.

Most of the time, her closest companion had been Dean Leeds. In my memory, Elisita had always appeared emotionally reserved and straightforward, except in the presence of those she had known since childhood, such as Dean Leeds and Ash Green. To most nobles, including myself, she was an enigma, only known through her external facade. This indicated her desire to maintain her dignity as a member of royalty, rather than approaching nobles in a friendly manner. A lofty member of the royal family. A person keen on displaying her grandeur as a member of royalty.

If Elisita Bilmann was indeed such a person, then all I needed to do was provide her with an opportunity to showcase her magnificence.

“Is there anything I can do to assist?” Ardor inquired.

“Begin practicing horse riding,” I responded with a smile, reassuring Ardor, who looked concerned for me.

Ardor blinked his large, doe-like eyes, attempting to discern my intentions.
