“Are… are you serious? She’s a knight and she’s nine levels higher than me… This is serious… what should I do?”

Erick gulped as Phebe shook her head and smiled at him. She seemed completely enthralled and elated that someone had finally accepted her hand in marriage.

She had one of the worst reputations in the kingdom when it came to dealing with men. The last Baron who had tried to request her hand in marriage died the next day. A knight she’d known since childhood also tried to propose and the Horde killed him two hours later.

As a twenty-two-year-old knight, she wanted to cherish this moment as long as possible. She’s actually finally gotten married, and even skipped the ceremony!

“It’s okay… I needed a man that knows how to survive… It’s for that reason I’m going to thrust you into danger! Otherwise, something terrible might happen to you like happened to the other two…”

“Do you mean you were married two times before? What exactly happened to them?”

“No, they only got a chance to propose,” Phebe said, sadly looking through a nearby window. “it was too horrible… Travis got killed on his way to propose, and Simon… I never saw that man again after he got in a boat and drowned because of the Horde.”

“What… Does that mean I’m destined to die! I should’ve heard that before I said yes!”

“Don’t worry, I asked first this time!,” Phebe leaned in and began blushing, her large chest beating harder as she stared into his eyes. “In the other two cases, the men asked and not me… It’s not like there’s someone out there that’s secretly killing them… Haven’t you heard bad luck never strikes three times in a row?”

“Ugh… you still really should’ve told me—”

“Come here! Your going to survive I know you are! I’m even going to thrust you into danger this time… My other husbands stayed too far back for the countdown to affect them. However, you’re not going to be the same! Only a true man fit for me would daringly go into a high death rate zone like the border!”

“The countdown there is much quicker, and the line is blurred between allies and enemies… You’ll see… With my luck, you’ll definitely stay alive… and Pepper… can I kiss him?”
