Chapter Fourteen
An hour later, she walked outside. She had changed. Twenty times. Each outfit had seemed wrong. Until this one. Sheâd finally remembered she owned a black skirt. It clung to her hips and outlined her ass then stopped. Right under it.
Still, she wasnât worried. The key was just not to bend over.
Sheâd matched it with high-heeled, black leather boots sheâd been dying to wear. They said hot, sexy, and oh yeah, out of your reach.
For a dash of who she really was, sheâd shifted a tiny T-shirt that said, âSmile if you stared long enough to read thisâ in flowing script across her breasts.
Of course it was a V-neck and revealed the valley her breasts made, held up by her pink, silky bra. To tone it down, she wore the long cashmere sweater jacket heâd brought her. It hung down to above her knees. Sheâd take it off when she got to the restaurant.
Faolan was occupied. Sheâd avoided the room with the two big men teaching Faolan to throw a knife. They hadnât glanced at her, but she knew theyâd sensed her walking by the room. Still, Faolan was safe. She hoped she was as well.
My first date. What if this is just one more seduction to get me into sex? What if that is still all he wants?
She found Jamie and halted her feet and her silly worries. âI am not getting on that.â
He gave her another heart-stopping grin, revved the engine on a motorcycle that purred. His biceps bulged when he did it. In fact, his entire arm did. He met her eyes with a challenging gleam in his. Her breath caught when he simply sat there, giving her a head-to-toe inspection.
She waited. And waited. Andâ¦
He was teasing her.
âNice legs. Now hop on.â
Her heart did a nose dive at the compliment. âNot a chance.â
âDonât be chicken.â
She ignored him. Didnât stare at how unbelievably sexy he was, sitting on his big motorcycle. Or how his body was probably more than capable of driving her into orgasmâmaybe even on the bike.
He narrowed his eyes and gave her a challenging stare. âSeriously. Donât be chicken. Come on, hop on. I promise to be gentle, since this is your first time.â
Her eyes flew wide. She narrowed them on his wolfish grin and gave him the finger. Then misted away.
He laughed, sounding as if heâd anticipated that response. Before sheâd reached tree level, he took off, the motorcycle chewing up the grass. It was unbelievably fast. He was obviously insane. It was clear he was into dangerous sports. The bike rose up on one wheel and he jumped it over a rock wall. Landed it perfectly on the opposite side, and kept going at a speed that really wasnât safe.
She shivered, even in her mist form. Such speed was fine in the grass, but what about concrete? Just the thought of the possible road rash made her nauseated.
âYou wonât ride a bike with me, but youâll fly like a bunch of smoke,â he shouted.
