During my life journey, I have been fortunate and honored to have met some extraordinary individuals. I’ve already introduced you to some of them. Larry, although he might not have known it at the time, had a profound effect on me and my ability to become an effective leader not just at Turner but throughout my career.

Larry and I started three weeks apart at Turner. In those days, the offices of Turner looked like an overstuffed closet that one pushed everything into, with the door barely able to close. The carpet had more duct tape holding it together then carpeting fibers. Those were the days of inspiration, drive, and determination to be the best.

Throughout our years at Turner, Larry became my boss, my mentor, and my friend. Over thirty years later, we can pick-up the phone and talk like no time has passed. He is now a grandfather, and I am a father. Time might have passed, but I will carry the lessons he instilled in me throughout my life. His words of wisdom on how to become an effective leader and innovator still ring true today. They are:
