“Ken, why is Mariam mentioning Chloe?” My voice brusque

“Chloe, came in here today, to speak with Mariam. She seems to think Mariam is a business competition.”

“What is Mariam doing right now?”

“She’s in her zone.”

“That’s good, when she’s in that mode, she’s all work. I don’t want her to give Chloe any thought. This is messed up. I’ll handle Chloe. Thanks, Ken.”

I hung up with Ken and let out a loud f-u-c-k that got Raheem’s attention.

“Hey, take it easy, what’s going on,” he says. I drop into the nearest chair. Facepalm letting out a frustrated grunt. I turned to Raheem. “I just had a beautiful weekend with Jade, I left her smiling. I called her all day, but she didn’t answer which is not unusual for her when she’s in the zone. I finally got Ken to check on her and she says, ‘I need to talk to Chloe.’” Raheem is taken aback.

“Chloe, as in Velvet escapade Chloe,” he asked to make sure.

“Yes, I’d told her I no longer needed her services.”

“She’d asked why, and I’d replied Mariam is enough. I haven’t called since I set eyes on Mariam. So, she visited Mariam today, Ken says she thinks Mariam is her competition, I can only imagine Mariam’s reaction.”

“Yeah, that’s messed up, but I will suggest you tell Mariam the truth.”

“I’d planned to once we are back to us again now; I can see her pushing me away again.”

“Do you want to fly back and speak with her?”

“Jade will not speak to me until she’s ready. No point going back and forth. We’ll close this deal and see Jade without any interruptions. In the meantime, I need to deal with Chloe, how dare her, the audacity of confronting my wife.”

“She didn’t know Mariam is your wife.”

“Fine, she didn’t know, so what I couldn’t take my dick and business elsewhere did she have to confront her.” I’m beyond furious.

“She probably thought she was being a smart businesswoman.”

“Well, let’s see how smart she is when I pull the rug from under her.”

“Ouch! Naseer, don’t let her fall on her face,” he dryly states.

“I don’t care, did she think I would just return to her after this stunt.” He shrugs as he leaves the room.

I placed a call to Luca. He’s Chloe’s enemy. Chloe had stepped on some toes while she was trying to grow her business. She’d tried to be a savvy businesswoman and stolen crucial information from Luca’s uncle. When Luca tried to get the information, she then tried to blackmail the uncle causing more problems for herself without knowing. I’d protected her from Luca’s wrath but not anymore. It’s time she paid the piper.

“Hey Nas, longtime my friend, did I miss something?”

“How are you doing, Luca?”

“Pretty good, what’s up Prince Naseer,” he says mockingly. I would like to mock him right back, but I need to end this Chloe’s situation.

“As of today, I’m longer a friend of Chloe, you can do as you see fit with her and her business,” I say right away.
