Now in its seventh generation of descendants who are included in operations, the Joe Huber Family Farm and Restaurant in southern Indiana has become a local institution. Anytime of year, itâs a popular destination for homemade jams and jellies and the wide variety of wines from its vineyard, but this is also where people go to pick strawberries in the summer. In the fall the Farm is known for its pumpkins and harvest-time activities. The restaurant, where everything is made from scratch and served family-style, is a big draw, too. A spacious dining room overlooks the lake, and there are flower gardens and a mini farm and playground that are especially nice for children. The menu includes country-fried chicken, Huber honey ham, their famous fried biscuits with apple butter, chicken and dumplings, a variety of fresh vegetables, and homemade pies, cobblers, and more. Since itâs often crowdedâespecially in the fall and during the holidaysâitâs always good to plan ahead for a visit to Huberâs.
