Cognitive Computing

As per John Kelly in (2015), the term cognitive computing includes a combination of artificial intelligence and technologies of signal processing. This includes natural language processing, speech recognition, human-computer interaction, machine learning, and reasoning, along with other technologies.

These technologies can be briefly identified as:Natural language processing is “a theoretically motivated range of computational techniques for analyzing and representing naturally occurring texts at one or more levels of linguistic analysis for the purpose of achieving human-like language processing for a range of tasks or applications” as identified in (Liddy 2001).
