With Starfire’s resources, it wasn’t hard to find Dravis’s contact information. Being a celebrity on the planet, Adam knew he’d have to finagle his way past his screeners. He doubted Dravis himself would pick up the phone. And Adam didn’t know if he could give out his name because all the broadcasts were still talking about him. Whether Dravis would suspect that the image of the Human they were showing was the original Adam Cain was anyone’s guess. After all, how could it be? The Adam Cain Dravis knew would be approaching sixty Earth years old by now.

Adam punched in the link code and waited for his datapad to chime.

“This is Dravis Hurr,” the baritone voice spoke as the image materialized on the tiny screen.

Adam’s eyes grew wide. He stammered, not sure what to say. “Dravis … hello. It’s Adam, Adam Cain. I didn’t think you’d answer the link yourself.”

The square-headed creature narrowed his eyes. “Why would I not?”

“Well, because you’re famous. I’d thought you would have your calls screened.”

“Should they be? Who did you say you are?”

“Dravis, it’s me, Adam Cain. Remember, from the Drunage match and, well, you know, the Sol-Kor universe.”

Now the big native recoiled. “What did you say?” he questioned. “That cannot be. How do you know of such things?”

“Because it’s me. Don’t you recognize me? You knew me when I was younger; I shouldn’t look too different now.”

Dravis leaned in closer to his screen. “Come closer, let me look at you. My eyes are not as good as they once were.”

He studied Adam’s face for almost a full minute. “This is not right,” Dravis gasped. “I have been hearing the name recently involving an attempted assassination. And then the calamity that happened today. Besides, you cannot be the Adam Cain I knew. Time has passed. This must be some kind of ploy. I am cutting the link.”

“No, don’t do that! It is me, Dravis. Give me a few minutes to explain.”

“Explain what?”

“Well, everything. What you’ve been seeing on the broadcasts and what I’ve been doing since we rescued Riyad on the planet Kor. C’mon, how many people know about that? Ask me anything about that time. I’ll answer you.”

The big Q’uel considered the screen for a moment, a frown still painted on his massive forehead. “My other companions who accompanied us, what were their names?”

Adam panicked. That was thirty years ago. He could barely remember Dravis’s name, let alone his red-shirt sidekicks.

“Ask me something else,” Adam pleaded. “I can’t remember who they were. I just know there were eight of you all together, and it’s been a long time.”

“You said you could answer.”

“Ask me something else.”

Dravis thought for a moment and then nodded. “During our Drunage match, you took exception to something I did after our first block contact. What was it?”

Adam laughed. That was something he would never forget. “You pissed on me!”

Dravis frowned.

“Urinated, relieved your bladder, whatever you call it on Uinsid. And if you recall, I returned the favor a few minutes later.
