Historians donât completely agree about why the Industrial Revolution first happened in Britain, but here are some main factors:
Clothing manufacturing started in Britain because cotton and wool were plentiful. Wool came from the sheep of England, and lots of cotton came from English colonies in the Americas and India. With a steady stream of resources, manufacturing companies could produce lots of cloth and then sell it back to the colonies.
