A steady buzzing made a continuous sound, but every time she hit the top of her alarm clock at the side of her bed it wouldnât stop. As she sat up, she released a yawn and stretched her arms. Once sheâd gained her bearings, she realized that it wasnât her alarm clock, but her door bell. She checked out the time to see that it was nearly five in the afternoon.
With a groan, she rolled out of bed and grabbed a robe to cover her nudity. An impatient Julie was on the other side of the door. The blonde pushed her way into Tamâs apartment.
âYou have no idea about the shit storm you caused last night.â
Tam placed her hand against her chest. âMe? What did I do?â
âItâs not what youâve done per se, but you have to know the other hostesses are going to talk when the clubâs biggest patron breaks another manâs nose over the new girl.â
Tam yawned, still trying to shake off the sleep that sheâd been denied. After Seamus had abruptly dismissed her, it was nearly noon. Once sheâd showered, Tam thought that sheâd have no problem falling asleep but instead sheâd lay awake in bed, thinking of how insatiable Seamus had been and all the wicked things heâd done to her body. Every time she closed her eyes on the verge of dozing off, he was there, making her hot and ready for him over and over and over again. Tam didnât know how heâd earned the Irish Demon moniker but he was certainly one in bed.
Her body still ached from the prior nightâs activity. A shiver ran down her spine as she thought about it. As first nights went, it wasnât nearly as bad as she thought it would be. But for every good, there was a bad. Being so callously dismissed after a night of sexual calisthenics was a brutal reminder of what she really was: a high-end prostitute. Sheâs spent the latter years of her life trying to avoid such a fate while she was living on the streets. The fact that she was now wearing designer clothing and the men who frequented this establishment were powerful men didnât make any difference. But Tam had to be practical about the situation. Maybe Seamus had done her a favor because he showed her that what theyâd shared was no more than a transaction and that was how sheâd go forward with the rest of her clients. As long as she kept her eyes on the prize, sheâd be out of here soon enough.
Tam shrugged with a nonchalance that she didnât quite feel. âI did nothing to encourage him. You were there. I was talking to Jason when Seamus pulled me out of my seat. And as you pointed out, itâs not like I had much choice seeing as heâs the biggest patron. I mean he must be a big shot since he has his own apartment and Iâm not talking about the private rooms beneath ours.
