Foster Falls swoons over a naked cliff into a massive plunge pool.

Miles and Directions

0.0 From the parking area, walk toward the picnic shelter, passing a sign-in registration and kiosk. Join the Fiery Gizzard Trail, leaving right along the powerline. You can already hear Foster Falls. Bridge Little Gizzard Creek above the falls.

0.3 A spur trail leaves right to the Father Adamz walk-in campsite.

0.5 Reach the rocky first overlook of Foster Falls. The 60-foot spiller plunges from a vertical rock precipice, then smashes into a colossal plunge pool.

0.6 Pass the second spur trail to Father Adamz campsite.

0.9 Reach a trail junction. Here, Climbers Access 1 splits left. Keep straight on the Fiery Gizzard Trail.

1.1 Reach Climbers Access 2. Turn left here and descend off the rim via steps, reaching a rockhouse. Cruise the base of the cliff.

1.4 Pass a trail that leads to an actual rock-climbing area.

1.5 Climbers Access 1 leads left to reconnect with the Fiery Gizzard Trail. Keep along the cliff base, passing under enormous rockhouses, sometimes dripping onto unsuspecting hikers.

1.7 Meet a suspension bridge over Little Gizzard Creek. Head out to view Foster Falls and its enormous catch basin from another perspective. Climb out of the gorge. Join a powerline cut and turn left.

2.0 Reach a wooden deck platform overlooking Foster Falls.

2.1 Return to the trailhead, completing the waterfall loop.
