TONYA RESISTED THE static snapping through her frame at Trent’s touch. She could not allow herself to fall for him again, no matter how much she wanted him—wanted to lose herself in his arms.

Her mind worked hard to convince her body, but her body wouldn’t listen. He pulled away and her hips followed his like a magnet. Her arms rose of their own volition, wrapping around him. Tonya wanted him. She needed him like a drug. She felt drunk and out of control. Or maybe she wanted to leave her inhibitions on the floor along with her skirt. What am I doing? I can’t do this again.

Tonya took his hand and brought his fingers to her lips. She touched the tips with her tongue and sucked one into her mouth. Trent groaned and his eyes swam with desire. Her body responded as though called. He was irresistible and she couldn’t seem to stop herself though she knew this was foolish, knew it was wrong.

His grip on her shoulder tightened and the blue of his eyes deepened as they mined the depth of hers. Tonya’s mind screamed a last-ditch alarm, and she stepped back. As though cold water splashed over her body, she shrugged his hands away and slapped Trent across the face.

He was momentarily stunned and then that damn irresistible crooked smile spread across his lips. “Do you want me to stop?”

Tonya willed the word “yes” to come out of her mouth, but her head shook no and she reached for him.

Trent drew her into a consuming kiss. He plunged his tongue into her mouth like he was starving. Against her rationale, her mind completely let go and her body melded into his. She returned his kiss, pushing her fingers into his hair.
