CHAPTER 15

16 Hours Until Resurrection

Alessandria hated the smell of the toxic harsh chemicals with the hint of death as she marched into the hospital.

The sterile white stone walls went past her as Alessandria needed to know what happened.

She felt the hard cold stone of the floor as she walked. It almost jerked her body around. But Alessandria needed to move.

The sounds of nurses and doctors talking annoyed Alessandria. She needed them to be working as she continued down the straight white stone corridor.

She just needed them to work.

A part of Alessandria knew she was panicking too much. Daniel had only said they were involved in an explosion two hours ago. But Alessandria grew fearful when he mentioned Harrison.

Nothing could happen to Harrison. Alessandria couldn’t allow that to happen for Daniel's sake.

When the servant had come to deliver the message from Daniel an hour ago, Alessandria had abandoned Nemesio. Leaving him to breakfast. But she knew Nemesio would be doing something useful.

At last, she saw a nurse stepping out of a room at the end of this horrible white stone corridor.

Alessandria slid past the nurse and thankfully saw Daniel sitting in a little wooden chair that looked very uncomfortable. Holding Harrison's hand as he rested in a rather fine hospital bed. Granted he was topless. Showing off his abs and muscles so Daniel must have been happy.

Alessandria wanted to kick herself at her making to think positive thinking. As she looked at the massive cuts and bruises on Harrison's face and chest.

Wandering over to the other side of the hospital bed, Alessandria pulled a smooth little wooden chair over.

She sat down. Allowing the freezing cold wood to take her weight. The smell of chemicals still filled the air but a hint of burned flesh filled the air too.

Harrison closed his eyes tight as he let out a long breath.

Looking over at Daniel, Alessandria hated to see him so tensed and worried about Harrison. Daniel’s face pale and his eyes narrow. He gently rubbed Harrison’s hand.

Of course, she had no idea what to do but Daniel had wanted her here. So she came. She came to support her brother and her future brother-in-law.

Hoping to keep Daniel’s mind off Harrison, Alessandria asked: “What happened?”

Daniel kissed Harrison’s hand and looked at her.

“I don’t know. We stormed in. Searched the place. There was a fire. Then an explosion. I sent Hellen away after she got checked out,”

Alessandria nodded. For starters, as much as she loved Hellen, Alessandria knew Hellen wasn’t the best person to have around when there was something serious going on. Unless it was a battle situation. Her massive stick always came in handy.

“It was a trap?” Alessandria asked.

Harrison looked in agony as he turned his head to Daniel.

“I think so. I think Neptunio knew we would go there,” Daniel said.

Harrison tapped Daniel’s arm and mouthed something.

Daniel nodded. “There... were crates on the ground floor. I dismissed them. It’s possible they were filled with something,”

Alessandria wanted to go over and hug her brother but this didn’t seem the time.
