I eat this regularly. It’s a really quick, easy, and all round good choice for breakfast meal, and it tastes great too.

Fitness Tip #9 (Mind-set) – This is a one-off, but it is still an action that I would take at this point – Sixteen weeks into the plan, I would revisit my reasons for starting my fitness journey.

Why?

At this point in any fitness or weight-loss journey, motivation might be low since the initial results may have slowed down or plateaued. This is quite normal. Since the future fitness tips will be followed, there will be more motivation and results heading your way. It is a critical time, and you need to work through it. This is actually the end point for many people; so, don’t be one of them.

To guard against this, I’d get a new piece of motivational material. In my case, I would opt for a picture. This would be put up on my gaming desk, and it would be of Arnold when he was at his prime bodybuilding state back in the 80s. Arnold was an inspiration for the original Jim, so he can be here for his fictional out of shape counterpart. I’d take some time and have some fun personalising this picture, maybe by making the picture have a speech bubble on it with one of his quotes such as –

“If you don’t find the time, if you don’t do the work, you won’t get the results.”

This way, I would see my motivation every time I sit at my gaming desk, and if I hadn’t done my training, neglected my diet, or passed up one of my new habits to play PC games, Arnold would be there, in my face, to put me straight.

It really won’t take up much of your time. This may seem like an easy thing to do, but it will certainly be worth the effort. Not only will it take a few minutes to implement, it will also give you a boost in motivation. This is something that you can do at any point when you feel your motivation is diminishing. It’s always a good idea to revisit and refresh your motivational material from time to time.

At this point in the whole process, there will have been a few big changes that have taken place; some will be more challenging than others, so having an easy one-off fitness tip to follow now will help you to take stock and make sure that all of the previous fitness tips that you have followed are still being practiced. It is, however, still important to make sure that you actually plan a change since this will keep you in the routine.

Fitness Tip #10 (Diet) – I would learn to cook a new healthy meal every week. I have to eat; so, why not have one night every week as my “experiment night”.

Why?

Knowing the difference between bad and good food, and knowing the nutritional value and its function is one thing, but knowing how to create good meals from good food is an entirely new skill.
