GETTING THERE
This widespread area is accessible to aircraft and boats. Yachters approaching from the north can moor in the small cove on the west side of Hoya Passage, in a tiny cove within the Bischof Islands (fair weather only), on the north side of Murchison Island and on the north side of Ramsey Island. If you are approaching from the south, Section Cove on the northwest corner of Burnaby Island or Skaat Harbour offer good moorage in most weather conditions.
Haida Gwaii Watchmen have a house on Gandll K’in Gwaay.yaay (Hotspring Island), but overnighting here or on nearby House and Little House Island is not permitted. Call ahead on VHF channel 6 before you go to shore on Gandll K’in Gwaay.yaay.
Parks Canada has a warden field station (intermittently staffed) at the south end of Huxley Island. In an emergency, it can be reached on VHF channel 16, or by satellite phone at 1-877-852-3100 or 1-780-852-3100.
Potable water from a pipe attached to a substantial float is available in a small cove on Moresby Island opposite Shuttle Island.
Pets are prohibited on Gandll K’in Gwaay.yaay. Visiting hours are 8:30 a.m. to one hour before sunset.
A portion of the northwest shore of Ramsay Island is closed from April 1 through June 30 due to sensitive ancient murrelet nesting colonies.
