Double Action Trigger: Semiautomatic Pistol or Revolver

Place finger on trigger at center of first joint.

Press trigger, using slow, continuous pressure.

Place the trigger finger on the trigger at approximately the center of the first joint.

Because of the trigger pressure and length of travel of the trigger, sufficient leverage is needed to draw the trigger fully to the rear. Pressure to the rear should be slow, steady and continuous.

Do not stage the trigger – i.e., do not jerk it or squeeze in a series of movements – and let the shot break. Let the trigger go forward and start the press over again. Your trigger finger should stay in contact with the trigger face at all times.
