Med puts me through the ringer. I’ve been in a few times during my leave, but that was just some cursory checks to make sure I wasn’t getting unexpectedly worse. Now, not only do they stress test me physically by having me run on a treadmill and having me lift weights, they also send in someone to evaluate me mentally. They need to know that neither the attack nor the time off have impaired my ability to function in the field. My heart stutters when the simulator puts me back out in Sector Seven, but not enough to give the medics pause. My trip to Seven for the cameras was a good trial run for being back there. I’m cleared for the extraction tomorrow.
