The dark hallway stretched beyond her sight. It should have ended long ago, yet it continued forever.

Breathless, Chelsey ran through perpetual black. Doors she swore she’d passed moments ago appeared at her sides.

Behind her, the beast growled, its footfalls shaking the floorboards. An inhuman howl rose the hair on the back of her neck. She didn’t dare look behind. The thing was closer now.

She ran harder. One peek over her shoulder showed a monstrous shadow that towered to the ceiling. Impossibly long arms extended the width of the hallway. Taloned claws raked plaster from the walls.

“I’m coming to get you, Chelsey,” it snarled. “We’ll be together forever.”

Its pawlike feet thundered against the floor. The house trembled with each step. It was gaining on her. The Kenneth Wendel thing. The werewolf.

Claws swept across her back. Hot agony made her cry out as blood spurted and rained off her flesh. It howled again. Hot, fetid breath scorched her neck.

“Come and take your punishment, little girl.”

The beast’s claws circled her neck. She screamed.
