Black brandishes a large sword over White, and the effect is paralyzing. Meeting this with ordinary moves would make engineering survival quite difficult and painful. Please bring out something from one's arsenal of tesuji.

Correct Solution -- An Attachment is the Motive Move

Starting with the attachnment of White 1, jumping out with 3 is the secret strategy for survival. The atari of Black 4 is standard here, so that White successfully moves out without trouble using 5 and 7.

And yet, the one stone capture [ponnuki] of Black 8 is thick and strong, something that Shuko Sensei likes, so he probably was not dissatisfied either...
