Janus watched this most unlikely trio exit the prince’s tent with a disbelief that oscillated with fascination. Their connection to one another was unmistakable. She was close enough to be sure. Yet she couldn’t believe it. How could it be that she did not know of this? How was any of this possible? She watched them numbly, her mind reeling. She needed more information and for that she needed to go south. Unfortunately Donnelly was sending her and her battalion into the Wedge to help with the Norrland rebel problem. She had no idea how long it would be before she could come back.

Janus followed the three brothers with a kind of longing, staying far enough back to avoid detection or suspicion. She wanted answers, and she would get them. For now, Janus could only wait and watch and wonder: how many are there?
