Chapter Fourteen
You can always say sorry, but the real apology is when you hear the sadness in their voice and see the look in their eyes. And you realize they have hurt themselves just as much . . .
~ Kid Cudi
Crina
A century. Thatâs what it feels like, a fucking century since the last time I saw him. Granted, itâs been maybe a week. I havenât really been at the club since I got the ride home that day. It would be too weird for me to be there, I think. At least, thatâs what I told Rebel. But oh, my friend Rebel . . . she told me to cut the shit and go over there, because I had as much right as any.
He called me his olâ lady the night we fucked, after he said he claimed me. We were on and off fucking all night long, and every time, he told me I belonged to him. How I was special because I was his woman, his girl, his olâ lady. Some women wouldnât like that, but . . . I loved it. Hell, I still love it. But I guess itâs stupid I say that. Chaz said we were done, so I need to get over it and accept the fact weâre probably done. Heâs never struck me as the type of man who isnât firm in his decisions.
Bea slams the door shut and throws her hands up in the air as she huffs, âGod, I hate working downstairs sometimes. The clients can be such pigs. They seem to forget Iâm not on the menu or wearing a fucking choker. Assholes.â
âGod, what did you do?â
Bea places a hand on her hip, âI grabbed a bottle of vodka and slammed it against that handsy fuckerâs head. What do you think I did?â
I bust out into laughter, âI bet Gia loved that.â
âGia is in Los Angeles right now, and I donât give a fuck if she, Briar, Diem, Emma, or anyone else has an issue. If theyâre going to open up memberships for more elites, then they need to make sure theyâre looking into these peopleâs behaviors.â
âElites?â I question, never hearing the term before.
âYeah, itâs a new type of membership we have at the club. Theyâre on a tiered system. Diem and Emmaâs idea, I think. Those two usually put their heads together and come up with some pretty solid stuff, but they have some kinks they need to fix.â She tells me as she walks over in my direction and slumps down into the armchair in our apartment.
âYeah. Where are Fern and Tildi?â
Bea cranes her neck, âYou know exactly where they are. Getting some hot lovinâ. Not that I can blame them. I mean, hello. We all need some every now and again.â
Ugh, I hate she said that. Iâve been feeling particularly needy the last couple days.
âChaz still not talking to you?â Bea questions, cocking a brow.
Sheâs automatically going to be on my side, but I did screw up here.
