Aurora

I returned to Crawford Town early on a Tuesday morning, but I didn’t alert any of my friends about my arrival because I was on a mission to identify the psychotic killer I encountered at Crawford University’s pre-resumption registration.

At my meeting in the Supernatural Council on Monday, I found out that another dead pack observer was found in Mac Tire City. The pack observer had passed away outside his assigned pack so the pack Alpha couldn’t be held responsible. To make matters worse, the pack Alpha callously refused to give the Supernatural Council permission to investigate within his pack.

The technicians in the intelligence department were also building a heatmap of the packs and locations where pack observers had turned up dead or missing, and there was now no doubt that whatever was happening was linked to the packs in the south. And Mac Tire City was the center of the werewolf society in the south. Due to this, the Supernatural Council was negotiating with Mac Tire City’s Council and the Alphas of various packs about setting up an official investigation into the death and disappearances of various pack observers.

To protect Crawford pack’s pack observer, Eric Maverick, we told him we suspected that he’d fallen on the radar of a deadly stalker in Crawford pack so we could get his cooperation. When he knew he was in danger, he gave Bane and Levi his Crawford Town Guest pass, which gave them a renewable 3-months legal access to Crawford Town and Mac Tire City as visitors. Bane was responsible for following and protecting Eric as his visiting friend, while Levi assisted Bane as a shadow guard of sorts and my go-to support as he shuffled between Crawford Town and the Supernatural Council.

I returned to Crawford University from my one-day trip to Ni Daonni City after spending the night before my return, reading up on as much information as Victoria and I could find on the lecturer I remembered seeing before I touched the psychotic murderer on Saturday.

Squaring my shoulders, I knocked on the door to Dr. Sutton’s office. When I was asked to enter his office, I walked in.

From my investigations, Dr. Sutton, who was usually a cheerful human teacher, had been in a gloomy mood in the past two weeks for unknown reasons. I felt that a good reason could be that he could no longer hide the gloominess in his heart, especially since Levi thwarted his attempt to attack Eric Maverick by noticing something wrong with the CCTVs at his house.

Dr. Sutton was a 5’ 7” tall human with dark hair and blue eyes who usually sported a clean-shaven face. Recently, he had been sporting an unkempt beard and while he seemed to have done some grooming today, he still looked bleary-eyed, as though he hadn’t been getting enough sleep.

“Dr. Sutton, my name is Aurora Byrne. How do you do?” I asked, smiling, as I extended my gloveless hand for a handshake.

He forced a smile as he shook my hands. “Miss Byrne? How may I help you?”

A second after our palms touched, I lost myself to Dr.
