Elidys picked up a juicy apple from the fruit bowl and bit into it. Ever since the human and elven gods made their peace she had come to greatly enjoy the fruits in Falael’s garden. She could grow her own of course, or even materialize them from thin air. They, however, never tasted quite as good.

“You nudged it again,” she said, not looking anywhere in particular.

Falael looked over to where she was lounging in his garden and smiled. “Why not? I like them.”

“First with the skill, then the pendant and now with the skill again.” Elidys continued, ignoring him. “The first time he would have earned a rare skill all by himself. Now they both really impressed the system and would have earned a really good rare or maybe even a low end epic skill. But here you are, meddling in the affairs of mortals. Did I miss any by the way?”

“Yes.” Falael frowned. “Do you disapprove?”

“Oh no, not at all. Impressed actually. Fascinated.” She got up and walked over to the table Falael was sitting at. “It has been a very long time since I have learned something new. I didn’t know we could influence the system like that. It takes a relatively small amount of energy to achieve a lot.”

Elidys poured herself a cup of tea and sat down across from Falael. After a moment she concluded. “They almost achieved it by themselves so you had to give but a barest push. Did you plan the whole thing?”

Falael sighed. “I would love to claim this as a part of my master plan but no. I did have plans for him, but our enemies are growing bolder. The small amount of my energy he has should not have attracted their attention. Not this much at least. Now, though, they started attacking our people all over the world.” Falael paused for a moment, thoughtful. “Even that doesn’t account for how much attention they have given him.”

Elidys mirrored his previous sigh. “We must invest more into keeping our people safe.”
