Apollo stood before his father along with the other gods. Ares and Athena were at the forefront, outlining the plan for battle against the Titans. He’d rather have missed this and just been told where to go and who to shoot. Artemis seemed equally as bored as she stood next to him. Like her twin brother, Artemis was dressed in shining golden armor with her bow strapped to her back along with the quiver of arrows.

“Apollo and Artemis!” Zeus thundered.

Apollo jumped slightly, not expecting to be singled out. Still, he advanced forward with his sister.

“You two will go assist Brandon’s forces,” Zeus told them. “Typhon has attacked him with the aid of Crius and Theia.”

Apollo’s eyes widened in surprise while Artemis snorted in obvious amusement.

“That’s awfully stupid of them,” she commented. “The army of Erebus is vast.”

“And Typhon is a force of devastation like no other,” Zeus replied. “Remember, the last time he walked the earth you all fled from him. I’m only sending you because the Titans are our responsibility to destroy.”

“So are we to help him engage Typhon at all?” Apollo asked.

“I doubt Brandon will allow that,” Ares replied. “Just keep Crius and Theia off him until Jarel gets there.”

“For the record, if you run from this fight, you will be made mortal and you will not return to Olympus again.” Zeus stood, towering over all of his children and siblings. “We are gods, the rulers of all the universe known and unknown. We do not cower. We do not flee. We stand, we fight and we will win. I do not create weaklings or cowards. I do not have weak siblings. On this day, we ride into battle and we will crush the Titans once and for all.”

A war cry rang throughout the halls from all of the gods. There would be no running this time.
