Chapter Seventeen
Christine
I try without success to roll out of my bed as I wake from my drug-induced slumber. Heat radiates around me and a heavy weight traps me. Fear pricks in my mind for a split second, but when I pull in enough air to scream, his scent hits me. I throw my eyes open and find that Iâm not in my bed. The immediate comfort of his presence is not lost on me, and I burrow deeper into his embrace.
Nothing about this feels wrong. It isnât too soon, as we have been circling around our attraction for the better part of a year now and getting the chance to become friends first. Although, as Craig so eloquently put it, âwe never fucking were friends, we were being stupid.â
The way Craig supported me last night, giving me what he could and welcoming a woman into his home in the middle of the night â a woman he didnât know â without question, proves how amazing he is.
Now that Iâm wide-awake, the impact his body is having on me is no longer comforting. I begin to squirm as heat coils in my core. A slow, steady pulse between my legs turns into an erratic, throbbing beat I cannot ignore. I press my thighs together in hopes of finding relief, but the motion pushes my ass right into Craigâs, um, morning issue.
Rock hard and huge, Craigâs cock against my backside only increases my need for friction. I canât help but make an infinitesimal rocking motion with my hips. The movement, however small, doesnât go unnoticed.
âIf you move one more time, Iâm going to need ice in my shower.â Craigâs voice is thick and gravelly with sleep, and Iâll be damned if that isnât even sexier.
I try to encourage him, but his firm grip on my hip keeps me still. I bite back a laugh as he leaps out of bed with a groan and enters the bathroom. Disappointment flitters through my mind, but I know now is not the time for us to take that step.
I donât want to move. As soon as I leave this bed, I will have to deal with the aftershocks of yesterdayâs revelations, and Iâm not ready for that. I curl around a pillow and tuck the covers under my chin. The sheets carry Craigâs scent, something I have never had the joy of waking up with, and I love the sensation of having him enveloping me. I could do this every day.
Craig emerges from the bathroom still brushing his teeth and shakes his finger at me as if scolding a child.
âOut of bed. We have shit to do today, so you need to get your ass in gear, woman.â The minty, white foam that fills Craigâs mouth muffles his commands. He gives me a pointed stare before returning to finish getting ready.
I slip out of bed to get dressed when I remember that I donât have any clothes here. I wonder if weâll get to the point where we each make room for the other to leave clothing and such at our separate homes.
