“This is the symbol of Hunab Ku,” she says, her voice hushed as her fingers trace the shape. “Some say the Mayans believed he was the god who created everything.”

“He should know what the Answer is then,” grunts Oscar.

I’m expecting Adjoa to roll her eyes at Oscar’s interruption, but instead she eagerly nods her head.

“He should,” she replies, her dark eyes gleaming with excitement. “Don’t you see, this means we’re on the right track. The Mayans believed that Hunab Ku lived in the centre of the Milky Way – that’s what this spiral shape represents, the galaxy we live in. Others call it the Galactic Butterfly. Some say the symbol of the Hunab Ku shows the gateway to all knowledge, so this must be where the Answer is.”

Oscar cracks his knuckles with a grin. “Let’s get the lid off this thing then.”
