In addition to the films, Nazi zombies feature in various video games and graphic novels. They first appeared in the video game Wolfenstein 3D (1992), followed by its prequel Spear of Destiny (1992) and the various sequels Return to Castle Wolfenstein (2001), Wolfenstein RPG (2008), and Wolfenstein (2009). Nazi zombies can also be found in mini-games in Doom II (1994), Call of Duty: World at War (2008), Call of Duty: Black Ops (2010), and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 (2012). The monsters are featured in the Japanese manga series Hellsing (1997–2009), written and illustrated by Kouta Hirano (1973–); War of the Undead (2007), written by Bryan Johnson (1967–) and illustrated by Walter Flanagan (1967–); and Marvel Zombies Destroy! (2012), written by Frank Marraffino (no date available) and Peter David (1956–).
