"Nontech" Creations

Although this book is focused on education technology and working with students in digital spaces, you should not eliminate analog or offline creations from the options provided for student creations just because students have access to technology. For example, students can snap pictures as they build an actual composting bin, chronicling the process from start to finish and showing how the project connects to their math goals (measurement) and science goals (the food chain). Similarly, you might give students options for creating a scale model of Chichén Itzá, leading some to use Tinkercad to build a 3D model and others to use papier mâché. Digital products do not have to be separate from hands-on experiences and can add a layer to student creations for capturing the process and celebrating their work.
