Feed your Dwarf Hamsters fruit in moderation to control the amount of sugar your pet is receiving. Too much fruit can lead to diarrhea. Acceptable fruits include:

• apple (seedless pieces only)

• banana

• blackberry

• blueberry

• cantaloupe

• coconut

• cherry

• grapes (seedless)

• honeydew

• papaya

• peach (but never the pit*)

• pear

• plum

• strawberry

* Do not make the mistake of thinking a peach pit would make a good “chew toy.” The center of the pit contains cyanide and will kill your pets.
