Chapter 18

“Take your clothes off,” Des demanded. She was holding a candle, which was casting light on her exposed chest.

“Uh what?” I forced myself to meet her eyes, my head spinning as I tried to figure out what was happening. I replayed what Des had said about the ritual, trying to figure out if this was normal or if she was trying to make a move.

Des rolled her eyes like everything was obvious. She held up the candle. “I need to dribble wax on your skin for the ritual. Take your clothes off.”

“I’m just, I’m not sure about this, Des.” I went to back up, but I had nowhere to go.

“I thought that you wanted your secondary class?” she asked, looking confused as she stood there in a sheer nightgown.

I nodded, not trusting myself to be able to speak coherently.

She smirked and walked up to me, pressing me against the door with her chest as she leaned forward looking me in the eye.

“Do you want this?” Her voice was just a soft whisper against my skin.

I swallowed, nodding my head.

She waited, clearly wanting a verbal answer.

“Yes.” The word came out hoarse.

She smiled, and I couldn’t help but grin back at her. I was half-tempted to kiss her plump lips. They looked so soft and inviting at that moment.

“Then come on.” She grabbed my hand and led me over to the bed. “Strip, but you can leave on your boxers. Then lay down in the center.”

“Maybe you could walk me through this first?” I was struggling to keep up. My lower brain was taking up too much of the blood flow. Her assets were out on display, and they made me interested in a way that was going to be awkward when I got my clothes off.

Despite Des’ no-nonsense personality that made her unapproachable, she was incredibly beautiful.

She thought for a moment before nodding. She lifted the candle to show me the rest of her room. “We are summoning a demon inside of you tonight. It will be an actual monster from the dungeon, and you’ll have to battle it in your mind. The demon will try to take over. In the event it does, I have prepared some emergency plans.”

The bed had a ring of salt around it, and the walls were painted with dozens of pentagrams.

“That looks like overkill. What are the chances I lose?” I started stripping down, leaving my boxers on. I tried not to draw attention to the massive tenting currently happening, but she looked down and noticed.

She raised an eyebrow as she stared, but she still answered my question. “There’s a good chance you survive. Just don’t be stupid. Demons are powerful monsters. There might be other ways to win than just going at it with a sword and knife.”

I nodded, taking those words to heart. “Okay, uh. What do I do next?”

“Lay down and relax. I just need to finish the ritual. We’ll put you in cuffs to protect us both.”

When I lay down, she moved forward, straddling me as she reached over to secure my first wrist into the cuff.
