I glanced up at my brother. “You’ve got to give me something to work with here. Who do you think had access to her phone? Was she dating anyone else besides Roger?”

“Not that I was aware of,” he muttered as he paced. Suddenly, he snapped his fingers and pointed at me. “You know, Chase worked really close with Phoebe. Some days, they’d be together for hours, going over inventory and working with the same horse. He could’ve easily watched her, gotten her passcode, and messed with her phone.”

I nodded, wishing I’d had the wherewithal to speak to Chase more when we’d previously met. Being caught in Vic’s house had flustered me, though. I’d wanted to question him further before, but now, it was a necessity. The guy had a motive, the means, and the opportunity.

Roger and Cynthia were definitely good suspects, but Chase had just become much more interesting.
