“I hope you don’t mind my being here, Sir.”
Seeing Taliah at lunch with Ayanna was an unexpected twist in what I felt would be a rather transparent conversation with Ayanna.
I guess her nerves got the best of her and she needed the anchor.
I understood that, and there was no argument from me.
Having lunch with two gorgeous women while other hatin’-ass men stared and tried to figure out how I got so lucky was more than enough reason for me not to tell Taliah to go back to the office.
“No, not at all, Taliah. I figured Ayanna might have needed some company in case I was running late.” I kissed them both on the cheek before sitting down.
“Yes, Sir, I will admit that I’m a little…well, a lot…nervous about what you needed to speak to me about,” Ayanna quietly spoke, her shyness only drawing me in closer to feel her essence. There was a part of her that insisted that I have it, and I was more than willing to consume it.
“I don’t want to put you in such a position, baby.” I let the term of endearment slip on purpose because I wanted to see her blush. She wanted to belong to me in some way or fashion; I read it in her body language.
Apparently so did Taliah, because she winked at me for a second like she already knew what had happened between us earlier in the week. “Ayanna’s been quite taken with you for a while now, Sir.”
“That’s an understatement,” Ayanna chimed in after sipping on her appletini. “Sir, I had been wanting what happened the other day to happen for the last couple of months. We’d been flirting so heavily that some days, I come home from work and I have to—”
I waited for her to finish her statement, not because I didn’t get the gist of what she was telling me, but I wanted her to hear herself say it out loud. It wasn’t a humiliation tactic, but the way Ayanna was blushing, you would have thought she was confessing that she cheated on me or something embarrassing as hell.
I put her out of her misery. There was no point in divulging the obvious. “Ayanna, it’s okay, I think I understand now. The question is, how far are you willing to take this?”
“As far as it goes, Sir,” Ayanna rebutted as I noticed her hands were trembling. “I know you have Niki and Natasha, and that doesn’t bother me. I don’t exactly want a boyfriend; I want what Taliah has.”
Huh?
What Taliah has?
Taliah saw the confused look on my face and felt that she needed to explain. “Sir, you have only scratched the surface of how deep this world can go. What Ayanna is talking about is the relationship that I have with my Daddy and my Goddess.”
“Okay, help me out, completely lost here.” I tried to wrap my mind around the concept that Taliah tried to lead me into, but I had to admit, I was
