Chapter Nineteen

The room is silent after the front door shuts.

Rafe chuckle’s slightly, “So you guys had an eventful night then?”

“Yeah, first the fight and then finding out Lyric is pregnant,” Jensen adds with an amused smile which is quickly followed by a frown, “oh shit, is Lyric going to be okay? That fight can’t have been good for her and the baby.”

I love that he is genuinely concerned and even thought that in the first place, but I frown; the thought hadn’t occurred to me, and now I’m worried.

Jynx nods, “Yeah, they should be fine, none of us took any hits, and it’s perfectly safe to work out the same in pregnancy as you did before. Although obviously, now she knows she won’t be doing anything that involves fighting, she should be fine. Also, I’m assuming you guys watched the fight on the security cameras?”

It hadn’t even occurred to me to ask how they knew about the fight, but Pete nods in confirmation.

“Huh, I never knew that,” I reply, relieved that there isn’t anything to worry about.

“If the guys react anything like I would, then they’ll get her in for that doctor's appointment Lucien mentioned as soon as possible anyway, and they’ll be able to check on the baby and make sure that Lyric is okay.” Luc surprises me by saying, and what surprises me even more is that all of my men are nodding in agreement like it’s something they may have thought about, and it doesn’t scare them.

“Yeah, if Jynx were pregnant, I’d probably be calling out-of-hours doctors now and bribing them with however much it takes to get her seen tonight,” Rome adds thoughtfully.

Jynx’s head whips around to face him, “You would?”

“Yeah, of course, he would, and if he didn’t, the rest of us would,” Rip replies, and Jynx looks like a gaping fish as she stares at them all.

Atlas points at Rome, “That’s a good idea. I hadn’t thought of that.”

“One of us should make a note of that so we don’t forget,” Riot suggests, and several of my guys pull out their phones. I share a what the hell is happening right now look with Jynx, even though my insides are filled with butterflies. I’m not ready not yet, but it’s certainly interesting to see that the guys aren’t freaking out about the thought of it and planning for the future.

Peter and Elijah suddenly burst out laughing, obviously catching our shared look and making Callan, Marty and Noel join in.

All of the men looked confused as Trick asks, “What?”

“I just think it’s funny that the girls are freaking out, and you’re all talking about the future. It’s usually the other way around.” Peter chuckles.

“Yeah, it’s amusing that the girls are sharing the what the fuck is going on look,” Callan adds with his signature quiet chuckle.

“I’d be freaking the fuck out if it were me,” Marty adds.

“That’s because you’re not in a relationship, and if a surprise pregnancy involved you, it would be a one-night
