By the time the paramedics removed the body, Janis Jets had arrested Ashley Tennant. "You have the right to remain silent," she cautioned the girl, nodding for one of her team to take her away. Janis finally spoke to Olivia and Michael.

"Did you see what happened?" she asked in a dry voice.

"We were in the truck, watching from across the street," Michael explained.

"We got impatient so we left the car to knock on the door. Then we heard a scream so we ran back here," offered Olivia.

Jets glared and shook her head. "You just can't help yourself. I gave you clear orders." She flipped open her iPad, biting her bottom lip. She tapped in a few notes and then closed the page. "I'll interview her back at the constabulary. On the one hand, I want to hear your take, but on the other hand? I think I'd better listen to the most obvious suspect. We'll take some DNA and have a look at the weapon."

"Death by skateboard," Olivia said.

"Looks that way." Jets glanced at her phone. "I released Bianca only an hour ago. She was as hostile as ever." Jet shook her head. "And now she's dead."

Michael nodded toward the shed where two police had left the door open.

"Yeah, I know," muttered Jets. "Ashley slept in that hole for some reason. Not good enough to hang out with the family? I don't get these people."

Jets stopped, her jaw clenching. "Have you seen Brandon? He isn't answering his cell phone, at least that's what the women told me at the constabulary when I asked."

Olivia looked at Michael. He spoke for them both. "We didn't see Brandon."

"We barely saw Bianca. She came from the back." Olivia pointed to the break in the fence where the VW had been left.

"Okay then, I'll have to tell the next of kin about the death. Not looking forward to that." Jets paused. "My assistant can track down Brandon." Jets held her hand to her head. "Lots of work tonight, just sayin’. See you two later." She moved away to join her team, who searched the shed.

It wasn't until they sat back in the truck that Olivia remembered, "I have a funny feeling about Ashley's cell phone. It looked pretty old."

"She doesn't seem to have a source of income," commented Michael, "which will be really bad because she needs an attorney double quick."

"None of them appear to have a job," Olivia agreed. "Except Bianca did, but not a great source of income as a waitress at Thyme Out."

"Not to feed four young adults," agreed Michael.

Olivia shook her head. "Do you suppose Beats gave them money? When they were arguing earlier, I overheard about the VW. Beats drove the car up the hill for them to have."

"So one of them had contact with their dad."

"Both girls texted him. Blair admitted that he put money in her account when she asked." Olivia sat back in her seat.

Michael popped the key into the ignition. "Doesn't sound like the behavior of a deadbeat to me.
