where to go
Mount Lemmon Ski Lift. 10300 Ski Run Rd.; (520) 576-1321; skithelemmon.com. In the winter, if the snow is good, Mount Lemmon becomes the southernmost ski area in the US. In the summer, ride the lift for the breathtaking view. The 30-minute round-trip covers approximately 1 mile. You’ll depart near the base area and enjoy a scenic view of San Pedro Valley, the Reef of Rocks, and the towns of Oracle and Mammoth. There is a restaurant, the Iron Door, which serves breakfast and lunch, but because hours vary with the seasons, you’re always safest to carry a picnic lunch. Closed Tues and Wed. Fee.
