The next day, I paced around the outside corridor of my flat, bundling with nerves as I thought about the date that I was going to have with Donte tonight.

As I paced around, I fell slap-bang straight into Maisie. I jolted back, flushing pink with embarrassment.

Maisie started cracking up with laughter.

“Hey girl,” she giggled.

“Hey Maisie,” I replied awkwardly. “I didn't see you there.”

Maisie guffawed in response.

“How are you doing?” she asked, with her hands on her hips. “I haven't seen you around much lately.”

“I've been so caught up with work,” I admitted exhaustedly, yawning because I was so damn tired.

“Don't worry about it girl,” Maisie sympathized. “Millie has gone to Los Angeles to see her family, so she won't be around for a few weeks. I was wondering if you wanted to come watch Netflix and stuff our faces with ice-cream?”

I smiled at her. I really, really could do with a Netflix night.

“Girl, I totally would,” I grinned. “But I actually have a date tonight.”

“You have a date?” she replied, in disbelief. Her eyes lit up, and she started clapping her hands as I giggled. “Finally, you decide to loosen up a little. Who's the lucky fella?” She rubbed her chin in thought. “Or lady?”

“Mr Abruzzi,” I coughed.

“Mr Abruzzi?” she repeated, stunned.

“I mean Donte,” I mumbled.

“Your boss?!” she yelled in delight, looking like she was about to faint.

I couldn’t help but to chuckle at what a clutz she was. I was so happy to be friends with her.

“Damn girl,” she said coyly. “You need to get you some of that.”

“He's been so sweet to me,” I admitted, finding myself blushing as I thought about him. “The least I can do is give him a chance.”

“Finally you used your brain and realised how sexy he actually is,” Maisie sighed, rolling her eyes.

I let out another chuckle.

“You can't just stand there!” Maisie accused, mind-blown.

“Why?” I denied.

“We've got to get you ready!” she exclaimed.

“Oh…” I began. “I was just going to wear some trousers and a top.”

“Don't be ridiculous,” she shot back, pointing her finger up pretentiously. “You can wear some of Millie's clothes.”

I shot her a repulsed expression.

“And I'm not taking no for an answer!” she said excitedly, and then ran behind me and began shoving me towards her apartment door, before I even had the chance to protest.
