Ryan headed out in his truck with Garrison. They were home for a few days and no one was ready to socialize. They were all still on edge, Shamus was in a mood still and they were all discussing this life, these jobs and looking at other options. The fact that they were all almost killed by some sick for-hire sniper pissed them off. They still had nothing on this guy, and they should just forget about it and count their blessings, and be glad Connor only needed some stitches.

“Let’s grab what we need for the week so we don’t need to be bothered going back out,” Ryan said to Garrison.

“I feel the same way, but I also feel conflicted here. The shit we went through was scary, and sure, the pay was more than expected, but is it all worth it? I mean Connor could have died. We all could have, and Shamus was fucking furious. I wish he could have killed that fucking sniper.”

“We all wish he could have. It’s amazing he was even able to spot him, but he injured his arm. Took him out of commission, so that bought us the time we needed. I just didn’t like that Merdock knew who the fucking guy was. It was like he knew there was a possibility he could be interference.”

“I know what you mean. I guess that’s why he sent the extra money. Plus an additional bonus from the government for rescuing Bunnon and getting him into their protective custody.”

“Well, Garrison, it was enough money to also be a sendoff. Like don’t bother to do any more missions. Make this your last and keep your mouths shut. I think that’s what pissed off Shamus even more. I heard him on a call with one of the feds. They wouldn’t give him any more info on the sniper.”

“Well, I say fuck it and fuck them. We have more than enough money saved to live off of and then some. Maybe it’s time,” Garrison said, feeling somber and angry. Ryan pulled the truck into the parking lot by the shopping center.

When they grabbed a cart and headed inside they tried to make their way through quickly, but of course they saw a few people they knew and trying to remain sociable was hard. When they got to the meat section Ryan paused and then looked at Garrison. Garrison spotted her immediately. Alabama was there, wearing tight blue jeans and a fitted T-shirt that just reached her waist. As she lifted her arm up to grab something on the top shelf, Ryan could tell from her side profile she was well endowed, and for a petite woman she sure had a nice ass that stuck out in her jeans.

Garrison looked unsure and Ryan felt the same way. They talked about her, about the date and getting to know her. She looked so classy and beautiful though, with her long brown hair pulled up in some fancy style on her head, exposing her thin neck.
