âSomeoneâs looking good today,â Skip remarked as he watched Ollie and I join them under the fig tree for lunch. I was wearing one of my new dresses, which was a floral print summer dress, and he was eyeing my bare legs before his eyes shifted to my cleavage. He finally met my eyes, and I could see the mischief and delight glinting in them.
âThanks, youâre not so bad yourself,â I stated as I eyed his standard singlet and shorts. At least he wasnât wearing thongs today, he had on a pair of joggers.
âThis gorgeousness needs no extra effort,â he said as he waved a hand around his face. I just laughed and shook my head as Lucas sat against the trunk of the tree, giving me a nice once over as well.
I positioned myself with my laptop bag in my lap so I could sit cross-legged, sipping my chocolate milk before lifting my chicken wrap to my mouth.
âDonât you have prac? How are they allowing a dress?â Lucas frowned as he pulled the skin off his orange for lunch.
âThe only requirement was closed-in shoes. They give us coats or clothes to wear in there, rather than bringing our own,â I stated as I indicated at my joggers. I didnât care if they didnât suit the dress overly well, it was too hot today for anything else. I wanted my light dress.
âHuh,â Lucas shrugged before tossing back a piece of orange.
âIâve arranged to do a banshee class tomorrow morning too,â I added after Iâd swallowed my first bite of the crispy chicken wrap.
âThatâs exciting,â Skip said as he sipped his can of coke.
âYeah, sheâs glad Iâve awoken my banshee side and wants to see my sonic scream in action,â I grinned, proud of my feat.
Skip asked about our prac session, and we discussed the work we were doing with cats and dogs, before telling us about his day so far.
Lucas got up just as I finished my chocolate milk, having devoured an orange and a sandwich for his lunch.
âI have to head back, but you guys have a good rest of the day. Let me know before the end if you want a lift home,â Lucas said as he bent over to give me a kiss on the forehead.
I was a little taken aback at his show of affection in public, and both Ollie and Skip looked surprised too.
âWeâre mates now, love. No need to hide anything,â Lucas said mentally, and I looked up at those dark emerald eyes as he remained bent over.
His forefinger and thumb caught my chin, tilting my head back more so he could plant a kiss on my lips.
Not just a soft âgoodbyeâ kiss either. No, he was giving me a proper kiss, and I sighed as the electrical spark tingled through me and heated me up.
âSee you later,â he murmured as he broke away, a knowing look in his eye as he winked at me.
âDamn,â Skip growled softly, and I turned to see the hungry look in his eye.
