If Corbin ever finds himself stranded on a deserted island, he already knows how to climb a coconut tree, crack open a coconut (which is way more difficult than it sounds), and even how to start a fire with sticks. Corbin describes opening a coconut as an extremely long process. “First, you have to find a coconut on the ground or climb up the tree to get to it. Then you have to remove the husk, which is the most difficult thing to do. You have to do it in sections by getting a long, spear-type object in the ground and shoving the husk of the coconut onto the sharp part. Then you rip the husk off the shell. You have to do this several times to get all of it off. Then you take the blunt end of something such as a knife and hit the coconut around the center until it cracks open. When you open it up, you have to do it carefully so as not to spill the milk inside because that’s the best part. I kept the shell of the first coconut I ever opened.”
