Sharing love in other ways
Although many people think sexual intercourse is the ultimate goal of sex, sex naturally offers many other ways of being together. For example: kissing, caressing, licking, cuddling, rolling around in a playful way, or massaging.
If you want to experiment with a cooler way, then you will need to disregard the idea that you have to excite each other. Or that you have to climax, or get the other person to a climax. With hot sex you build tension, while with cool sex you focus primarily on awareness, being more present, and relaxation.
So, as already explained, when you touch each otherâs genitals in cool sex, the quality of touch is likely to be different to the active, stimulating manner used in hot sex.
For example:
⦠You can see what happens when you just leave your hand gently resting on the genitals/pubic area/pubic bone of your partner â this will help them to tune into a possible flow of energy.
⦠Take turns to hold the penis or breasts for several minutes, in a loving non-stimulating way, already mentioned earlier in this chapter.
⦠See what you sense and feel when you put one hand on the positive/plus pole of your partner, and the other on the negative/minus pole.
⦠You can do this to yourself, one hand on each pole, and notice what you feel happening in your own body. Perhaps you can initiate a subtle flow of energy.
It can take some time and practice to withdraw from the hot style, and be able to feel the cooler subtle happenings in the body. When you tune into this fine level of sensitivity, you can have very deep, fulfilling experiences.
