Lande.

I'm livid. The best thing is to get out of here quickly. The moment I excused myself from the table. I dashed out of the restaurant and hailed the first taxi I saw. I jump right in and instruct him to take me to union station. A taxi ride is always perfect for when you want to run and hide. I raced to the ticket machine and bought a ticket. Noticing the train leaves in ten minutes. I raced to the platform. Soon as the train moves, I send Deji a text message.

Deji: Heading over to Kay's place tonight; talk in the morning.

Me to Kayode: Please pick me up at the train station. Heading to your place.

Kayode: Say what? Are you okay?

Me: I'm fine. I just need a place to stay for the night.

Kayode: Fine, I'm home; not like I have a girlfriend. You get to cook. What time do you get here?

Me: Deal. 9:55 pm

I breathe relief. He won't know where to find me. My phone soon rings, with Dane and Tate calling back-to-back. I hit the red button each time. I would like to turn it off. I can't detach from the rest of the world because his cousin is an asshole that treated me like it would be a bucket list for me to have sex with him.

I sit on the train and try not to think about him, which is impossible. He has become my center. Deji told me they talked. Tate is now in the know about the contract. I wanted to be angry at Deji for telling him, but I couldn't because a part of me wanted him to know so he could stop being jealous of Deji. Now with his cousin. I know I should have listened to Kay telling me he's a shark.

Deji: He's just called, asking if you are with me.

Me: Tell him I'm not (which is the truth), and don't tell him I'm with Kay.

Deji: You know he won't believe me.

Me: That's his prerogative. You've told him the truth.

Deji: You know he acts crazy when it comes to you.

Me: You can handle him.

Deji: I wish I could handle him.

The train soon arrives at the station. I see Kay waiting. Getting off, I rush to him. We quickly exit the station. "Are you going to tell me why you came all the way to my place, considering you don't like the burbs?"

"I need a place where Tate can't find me."

"And you really think he can't find you here?"

"He can't, he doesn't know you, and he has no idea where you live."

"You know, at some point, you must face whatever the problem is."

"Just not tonight," I respond with unwavering certainty.

We drive quietly to his place. That's only six minutes from the station. Once inside. I head to the guest room. I have a bag at his house with clothes from the last time I was here. I don't feel like wearing the tops I have here. I go into his room and grab one of his shirts.
