After 30...e5 31.Bxc8 Rxc8, Black would be an exchange down but not entirely without counterplay. 31.Bxe6+ Kf8 32.f4! In the game, White instead chose 32.Bxc8 and soon won after 32...Bxc8 33.Qh8+ Ke7 34.Qxh7+ Ke6 35.Re3 Nd4 36.Qg8+ and Black resigned. 32...Qd8 33.Qh8+! Ke7 34.Qg7+!
